Americano and Mexicano, explained

What is a padel Americano?

A social padel format where partners rotate every round. Each match is played to a set total of points, such as 24, and every player keeps the points their team wins. Whoever has the most points at the end wins.

What is a padel Mexicano?

Like an Americano, but after round one the pairs follow the standings. Players are grouped in fours by total points, and 1st and 4th play 2nd and 3rd, so matches stay close all session.

How many players do I need?

At least 4. Padellama puts 4 players on each court, from 1 to 10 courts. With 8, 12 or 16 players and enough courts, Americano uses a perfect schedule where everyone partners everyone exactly once.

What if the player count doesn't divide by 4?

Extra players sit out in rotation, and nobody sits out twice before everyone has sat out once. A sit-out can score zero, the player’s own average, or a fixed number of points.

How are the standings decided?

By total points, then wins, then head-to-head points difference.

Do players need an account or an app?

No. Padellama runs in any phone browser and saves the session on the organizer’s phone. Share the final standings to WhatsApp in one tap.

Is Padellama free?

Yes, the generator is free.
